Next time I will book another hotel to stay in Chantaburi
Proximity to gems market.
Reception staff were very unfriendly. Buffet breakfast was much less diverse then the last time we visited. The bread (croissants,buns) was "old".

Pleasant, no nasty surprises and a good location with plenty of facilities in the hotel or nearby.
Clean and well kept hotel Excellent 2hr 500THB massage.
Booking.com booking could not be found when I arrived. Fortunately my receipt confirmed the detail but the hotel literally had no idea I was coming. Walk in rate was cheaper than booking.com The EXCELLENT 2hour 400 THB massage advertised actually cost 500 THB - which I think was because she came to my room but... you know, leaves a taste. The massage was still great value.

There was no tea bags provided in room.
There was no tea bags provided in room. Only coffee. Even after asking for same I did not got any from hotel staff. Most of the staff did not understand English.

worth visiting if you're nearby
Good view to the city from the top of the hotel. The gym place was very well equipped, well maintained (2019. Jan.) and spacious!! Even there is a boxing area with a place for floor exercises which is included. This was my favourite place. The hotel looks like a chastle from inside, it is very elegant. The staff was very kind. The breakfast is tasty. The thai massage prices are very good in the hotel! (usually it is hard to find a good price in the hotel, but here it was and moreover inside a beautiful hotel.) The location is quite good. The mall on foot is just few minutes far from the hotel. Around the mall there is a night market with mostly 'old/extreme' clothes and there is big and good food section at the market.
The clothes of the night market is not specially for tourists, not for 'normal european taste', you will see what I mean). It is interesting, but I could not buy clothes..... Of course it was not the mistake of the hotel.
